George C. LaJeunesse

George is the father, grandfather, and foundation of the family. Also known as Grandpa George, he started horseback riding in his 20's and has continued to share his love of horses with his family. He attended college at SUNY Cobleskill and then graduated from Cornell University School of Agriculture with a BS in animal husbandry. George is a retired High School Biology teacher, and now spends his days on the farm with three generations of his family. Riding gaited horses, such as his trusted Missouri Fox Trotter "Sierra," he has shown that gaited horses can do anything including sorting cows, teach kids how to ride, and trail riding for hours. George continued to work on his horsemanship with a local trainer, and has ridden in two Chris Cox Horsemanship Clinics at the Triangle C Ranch in Wyoming in 2017 and 2019.  George continues to lead the family by being an important part of his children and grandchildren's lives.

Michelle M. Bombard, dvm

Michelle took an interest in horses (all animals actually, but horses in particular) when she was young. Her parents, George and Jane LaJeunesse, started her with English horseback riding lessons at the age of 12 and soon after brought horses into her life forever with the purchase of "Kate," Michelle's first horse. "Kate" and Michelle logged many trail miles over the years while Michelle graduated from Galway High School in 1993, then Binghamton University in 1997, and then Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2002. Michelle married Mark Bombard soon after graduating from Vet School; they settled down in their home town of Galway and have two sons. In addition to being a wife, mom, and horsewomen, Michelle works as a small animal veterinarian at Malta Animal Hospital. Throughout the years, Michelle's parents and her horse "Kate" were always the foundation and home she came back to. "Kate" was able to teach the kids to ride before she passed away in 2019 after being a part of Michelle's life for 30 years.  Michelle continues to work on her horsemanship through training sessions with her Tennessee Walker "Coalton" and Quarter Horse "Doc," and is always learning more skills to improve her horsemanship.  She has attended clinics and other continuing education, rode in the Chris Cox Horsemanship Clinics with her father in Wyoming, rode in a demonstration with trainers Chris Cox and Dan James at Equine Affaire in Springfield MA in 2019, completed Chris Cox Horsemanship I clinic in 2020 and Chris Cox Horsemanship II clinic in 2023.  A great teacher is one that never stops learning so there will always be more opportunities in the future.
